skin journal · post-acne marks

my breakouts healed years ago. my skin never forgot — until now

The pimples were gone, but the shadows stayed: dark marks, uneven tone, dullness no highlighter fixed. My eight weeks on the Glutathione TX1 Vita protocol.

There are marks that stay long after the moment has passed. A pimple that healed but left a shadow. A breakout that calmed but left uneven tone. Days under the sun, quietly turning into stubborn pigmentation.

For many of us, skin doesn’t just heal — it remembers.

I’d tried the brightening aisle before, and my experience matched a pattern the Skin2Confidence educators describe well: most brightening routines push too hard, strip too fast, and brighten while weakening the skin. Mine always ended the same way — a week of glow, then irritation, then new marks.

what is glutathione tx1 vita?

At the heart of this protocol is Glutathione TX1 Vita — an antioxidant complex formulated to help interrupt pigmentation pathways while restoring skin clarity, layered with hydration, barrier support, and strict photoprotection. Glutathione is a name most of us already know from the supplement world; here, it’s applied topically as part of a system built around three jobs: help regulate melanin production, support recovery from post-inflammatory marks, and strengthen the barrier while protecting against UV.

my diary

weeks 1–2

The texture surprised me most — nothing tingled, nothing peeled. The toner and cream made my skin look “watered” in a way that instantly softened how harsh my marks photographed.

weeks 3–5

The scattered marks on my jaw — my mask-era souvenirs — started fading from brown to soft beige. The eye cream became the sleeper favourite; my concealer stopped creasing into dry lines.

weeks 6–8

Overall tone, not just spots, is where I saw the biggest shift. My face looks like one colour again. The deepest mark on my chin isn’t gone, but it’s faint enough that I forget where it is.

week 2 · nothing peeled week 5 · brown to soft beige week 8 · one colour again

my honest verdict

Heal evenly, brighten safely, glow naturally — that’s the promise, and after eight weeks I’d call it accurate, with one caveat: “safely” means gradually. If you want a peel-grade before/after in ten days, you’ll be frustrated. If your skin keeps a grudge the way mine does, this is the first brightening routine I’ve finished without new damage to show for it.

My skin kept a record of every breakout. I just wanted the record cleared.

your questions, answered

is topical glutathione the same as capsules or drips?

No. Oral and IV glutathione work systemically and come with their own considerations you should discuss with a doctor. This protocol applies glutathione topically, targeting the skin surface where marks live, alongside barrier support and SPF. Different approaches — not interchangeable.

will this work on melasma too?

This protocol is aimed at post-inflammatory marks, dullness, and uneven tone. For melasma with a compromised or sensitive barrier, the repair-first Protocol 2A is usually the better starting point — and stubborn melasma deserves a dermatologist’s opinion.

do i really need the sunscreen step?

Yes — more than any other step. UV exposure re-activates the pigmentation you’re trying to fade. The protocol treats daily SPF as part of the treatment, not an accessory.

One tester’s personal experience; individual results vary. Patch test new products. For persistent pigmentation, consult a board-certified dermatologist. Daily broad-spectrum sun protection is required while using brightening products.
